Designing Group Projects
Description
In this workshop, led by the Faculty Forward Academy at the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering Center for Teaching and Learning Design, participants will share strategies that leverage the benefits of group assignments and minimize student and instructor frustration.
Group projects and other forms of collaborative assignments provide meaningful learning experiences for students and instructors. Having students work together on an assignment promotes active learning, which in turn develops essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, and decision-making. For group projects to be successful, their design requires careful thought and planning.
