Description

Just in time for Spring or Summer 2025 planning, Hopkins Office for Undergraduate Research (HOUR) offers two weeks of hands-on, virtual workshops to help Johns Hopkins undergrads get started on their research journey. Go beyond what's offered on HOUR's website and get customized, hands-on experience with the resources, tips, and best practices HOUR offers in these workshop sessions.

This session focuses on "Identify and Secure Fall/Spring Research Experiences." There are two opportunities to attend this session on Nov. 11 and 12.

Topics:

  • Clarify your 'must haves' and 'dealbreakers' before you begin your search.
  • Tips for optimizing your search in ForagerOne.
  • Where/how to find more information about potential mentors and their projects.
  • Best practices for contacting potential mentors.
  • Manage the process … and your expectations.

Please note:

  • All sessions are virtual in the Eastern time zone.
  • Sessions include hands-on activities for you to conduct your own individualized searches/editing.
  • These sessions will not be recorded.
