Description

Brenda Schuman, the director of the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, will give the 2024 Pickart Lecture titled "Signaling Through the Ubiquitin-Proteasome System," hosted by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The lecture will be followed by a reception.

The Pickart Lecture honors the contributions of Professor Cecile Pickart, who passed away in 2006. Pickart made foundational discoveries about the role of ubiquitin. She was also known for her mentoring of students and postdocs and excellence in teaching.
