ARPA-E Fellows Information Session with Elise Goldfine

Description
The Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency—Energy (ARPA-E) is looking for fellows to help contribute to the direction of energy innovation. Elise Goldfine, a current fellow at ARPA-E, will lead an info session about this opportunity with a Q&A. This event is hosted by the Ralph O'Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI).
ARPA-E provides a unique opportunity to work alongside colleagues from diverse science and engineering backgrounds toward a common goal of changing the world through energy technology. Fellows gain experience in evaluating novel research and commercialization concepts and crafting funding opportunity announcements. With their experience at ARPA-E, fellows go on to a variety of exciting careers in energy including at startups, venture capital, nonprofits, government, and academic positions.
This is a hybrid event. Find directions to ROSEI's R House offices to attend in person. To attend virtually, email Ashley Eziama at aeziama1@jh.edu for the Zoom info.
Elise Goldfine's technical interests include primary energy, energy storage, mining technologies, and decarbonization of industrial processes. She earned her doctorate in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University in 2023. Her doctoral research focused on synthesis and characterization of oxynitride materials for catalytic applications. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering from Cornell University, where she studied deposition of nanoparticle electrodes for batteries and fuel cells. Goldfine also previously researched reconfigurable liquid-liquid interfaces at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and worked as a development engineer at Tessolar Inc., a startup working on novel solar module design.
