Special Session: Donuts and AI Speech Model
Description
Researchers at the Center for Language and Speech Processing are seeking volunteers to help advance the future of artificial intelligence (AI) speech processing. The researchers are collecting casual and spontaneous conversations to construct a database that will assist them in training expressive AI models for dialogue.
Please bring a friend and join this new recording session accompanied by donuts and the enthusiastic undergraduate and graduate researchers.
By having more spontaneous conversations, the Scalable Spontaneous Speech Dataset research team aims to gather better samples of real dialogue interactions to build its AI models. The conversations, facilitated through an app, are designed to be easygoing and relaxed, much like chatting on the phone. Each of the participants will record from separate rooms, simulating a telephone conversation.
Participants are not required to stay for the entire two-hour duration but rather for as long as the conversation continues.
Attendees who deliver a one-hour speech during this special session will receive a $10 Amazon gift card as compensation. (apart from donuts). Participants must be 18 years of age or older to take part in this study.
