Description

Join the Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation (CTEI) for its March 1 journal club meeting. The topic is pedagogical strategies and the discussion, which will be led by Rebecca Pearlman from the Department of Biology, will be on "A Study Planning Exercise Associated with Decreased Distraction Levels among Introductory Biology Students" (Walck-Shannon et al., 2024).

This is a hybrid event with an in-person limit of 20 participants; please indicate your preference on the registration form.

In spring 2023, CTEI started a journal club focused on teaching and learning topics in higher education. It is inspired and informed by faculty in the Johns Hopkins Biology Department who ran it enthusiastically in pre-pandemic times. The CTEI educational journal club encompasses all disciplines, so everyone from all fields is welcome. Participants are also highly encouraged to select articles and lead the discussion.

Aside from hosting an informal chat of amazing ideas, the meeting includes tea and light refreshments.

Come for the community and conversation.
