Description

Attention undergraduate and graduate students in Maryland: Are you passionate about social justice and educational equity? Do you want to make a positive impact on your community? Are you interested in developing a curriculum for a Freedom School?

Join the Program in Racism, Immigration, and Citizenship for a brainstorming session to develop a curriculum for a Freedom School. Undergraduate and graduate students from Johns Hopkins University and other institutions of higher education in the region are invited to collaborate on this exciting project.

The goal is to create a curriculum that engages students in critical thinking about the history and impact of the Civil Rights Movement while exploring contemporary issues around racial justice and social equality. Through this project, you will have the opportunity to work with fellow students, community leaders, and educators to develop a curriculum that reflects the values and needs of the community.

This project will require your commitment and creativity. You will have the chance to learn from experts in the field, participate in workshops and training sessions, and collaborate with a diverse group of peers. In addition, you will gain valuable experience in curriculum development, community engagement, and leadership.
