Description

In 1974, a young artist returned to Baltimore from New York City, having graduated from the School of Visual Arts there. He soon joined the Beautiful Walls for Baltimore mural painting program, where he made a name for himself in the field. He ultimately was sought out for mural commissions on his own. His most important was the Baltimore Wall of Pride on the Elwood Brown playground on Carey and Cumberland Streets. During this time, he also created a body of work on canvas.

Join the family of Pontella Mason as he is honored posthumously with an art exhibition of both his murals and personal collection of paintings at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center.

Sponsored by Inheritance Baltimore of Johns Hopkins University, the show will be up for viewing from Saturday, April 22, through May 20.
