Description

The third annual Gary Laben Lecture features V. Chunoo (he/him), an assistant professor of organizational and community leadership at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His lecture will address the intersections of social justice and leadership and help people envision their day-to-day lives, including their occupational or educational roles, as leadership. The lecture is hosted by the Center for Leadership Education.

Chunoo teaches courses in Leadership Communication, Leadership Ethics, Collaborative Leadership, and Social Justice Leadership. His research focuses on the cultural aspects of teaching and learning in leadership as well as the social justice outcomes of leadership development programs. Chunoo has co-edited Changing the Narrative: Socially Just Leadership Education and Shifting the Mindset: Socially Just Leadership Education. In addition, he is the associate editor of New Directions for Student Leadership, the senior research fellow for LeaderShape, Inc., and the host of the NASPA Leadership Podcast.
