Description

Come join Johns Hopkins Data Services for the first Data Bytes session of Spring 2023 titled "Introduction to the Unix Command Line."

The Unix command line is a powerful tool that allows users to automate complex task and easily combine smaller tasks into larger, more powerful workflows. Use of the command line is fundamental to a wide range of beginner to advanced computing tasks, including high-performance computing.

Come take a "byte" out of the command line, learn what the command line is, why it's useful, and learn some basic Unix commands that will improve your computational research skills.

Data Bytes are short, virtual data-related talks that are hosted by Johns Hopkins Data Services and offered during lunch on Mondays. Talks are lecture- or demonstration-based, so you can eat your lunch while you learn. Learn about and register for other Data Bytes sessions happening this semester.
