Description

Bringing together key stakeholders representing donors, scholars, U.N. agencies, and Afghan health leaders, the fourth session of the Afghanistan webinar series will delve into the future health and development challenges in Afghanistan. From the ongoing poverty crisis to climate change and peace and justice, we ask the question of what's to come and how can we help? Panelists will also debate the Sustainable Development Goals' priorities, challenges, and opportunities to continue to protect the health and wellbeing of Afghan families and communities now and into the future.

Panelists include:

  • William Newbrander, senior principal technical advisor, Management Sciences for Health
  • Randolph Augustin, director, Office of Health, Population & Nutrition, U.S. Agency for International Development
  • Abdallah Al Dardari, resident representative, U.N. Development Programme, Afghanistan
  • Hadia Samaha, human development practice lead for Afghanistan, World Bank
  • Wahid Majrooh, former minister of public health of Afghanistan
  • Kwalombota Kwalombota, health advisor, policy and programmes pillar, U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

Sponsored by the Department of International Health, Institute for International Programs, Center for Human Nutrition, Center for Humanitarian Health, Berman Institute of Bioethics, and Mission Afghanistan 2030.
