Distinguished Speaker Series with Sharon Marcil

The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Distinguished Speaker Series, a quarterly series of discussions with leaders at the forefront of business to discuss today's most compelling business challenges, resumes this fall with a 1:1 discussion featuring Sharon Marcil, managing director and senior partner, North America chair at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Alex Triantis, dean of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

Sharon Marcil leads BCG in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. She previously served as BCG's chief marketing officer, the chair of BCG's global sales team, and the head of BCG's federal government team.

Since joining BCG in 1993, Marcil has helped transform some of the world's largest private and public sector organizations, including the largest health care and consumer products companies on post-merger integrations and restructuring efforts. She has brought corporate best practices to the public sector, helping change agents bring innovation to government entities.

Marcil has worked with the Partnership for Public Service's Center for Presidential Transition since 2011 and currently serves on the Partnership's board of directors. She was named by Consulting Magazine as one of the "Top 25 Most Influential Consultants" and one of five "Women Leaders in Consulting." Marcil is a board member of the Duke Trinity College board of visitors. Prior to joining BCG, Marcil worked for Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions. Marcil received a BA in economics magna cum laude from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School with distinction.
