Description

The Cochlear Center for Hearing and Public Health is holding Research Day, offered both in person at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Wolfe Street building and with a virtual option for the faculty remarks and keynote address.

During faculty talks from 9 a.m. to noon, learn about Cochlear Center research from enter Director Frank Lin, Carrie Nieman, Jennifer Deal, Nicholas Reed, Esther Oh, and Josh Betz. Center faculty will present on topics including hearing loss, healthy aging and dementia, early insights from the HEARS study about hearing health equity, modern methodology for hearing-related studies, and the connection between hearing loss and health care.

At noon, Natalie Phillips, professor and research chair in sensory-cognitive health in aging and dementia at Concordia University, will give the keynote address: "Sensory Function and Its Relationship with Cognition, Brain Imaging, and Dementia."

Please stay for lunch and the poster session from 1 to 3 p.m. in which Cochlear Center researchers and trainees will share their work in hearing and dual-sensory losses and healthy aging.

All in-person events at Johns Hopkins must follow university COVID-19 policies. See current guidelines online; this is a hybrid event.
