Description

Join a book reading, signing, and meet & greet celebrating Bloomberg Distinguished Professor Lawrence P. Jackson's latest book, Shelter: A Black Tale of Homeland, Baltimore (Greywolf Press, 2022).

Shelter is a probing portrait of the misunderstood city of Baltimore by a returning native son. "In resonant prose, Jackson ably conveys the feuding aspirations and unease of the Black middle class in Baltimore. The result is a stirring reflection on the meaning of home," says Publishers Weekly.

This event is organized by the Johns Hopkins Billie Holiday Center for Liberation Arts at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center.

Drinks and small bites to be provided during the reception.
