April Awareness Speaker: Jabari Lyles
Description
During its April Awareness pride month, the Diverse Sexuality and Gender Alliance (DSAGA) invites speakers in hopes of informing people both within and outside of the LGBTQ+ community about that community. This event features speaker Jabari Lyles (he/they), who has extensive experience in LGBTQ+ advocacy and nonprofit work in Baltimore. They will be giving a talk titled "Queering Public Service: Navigating Leadership and Systems for Liberation."
His experience includes serving as the former director and senior advisor of LGBTQ affairs for the Office of the Mayor in Baltimore City and as the former chief operating officer and senior strategist at Baltimore Safe Haven, a nonprofit organization providing health and housing services for transgender youth and seniors living in survival mode in Baltimore City.
All in-person events at Johns Hopkins must follow university COVID-19 policies. See current guidelines online.
