Description

In collaboration with the Columbia (MD) Chapter of The Links Inc., Peabody Institute students will represent their ancestries from across the African diaspora, performing uniquely and traditionally composed pieces that align with the theme of the 32nd Annual Peabody Concert: In Living Color: Deconstructing Duality. This student-selected theme will hold the audience to reflect on the lived dualities Black people live with every day. Students will also use their performances to explore radicalism, celebration, and community.

Please attend the concert by joining the livestream.

Featured performers include:

  • Black Student Union leaders: Kaijeh Johnson (voice), Rahel Lulseged (cello), Havalynn Roberston (classical saxophone)
  • Maxwell Arceneaux (horn), Yasir Jones (dance), Kevin Paton-Cole (voice), Robert Gilliam (jazz saxophone/bass clarinet), Emmanuel Losa (cello), Ui-Seng Francois (dance)
