Description

Isabel Wilkerson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Humanities Medal and author of the critically acclaimed New York Times bestsellers The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, will present the keynote speech for the 2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Celebration.

She will then join Sherita Golden, vice president and chief diversity officer of Johns Hopkins Medicine, for a fireside chat about Caste. The theme of this year's commemoration, which includes the annual MLK Jr. Community Awards Ceremony on Jan. 14, is "Engage, Empower, Evolve." The events are organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee.
