Info Session: Hertz Fellowship for STEM PhD Funding
Description
The Hertz Fellowship supports the graduate study of students likely to become leaders in scientific and technological advances, exemplary teachers in the applied physical sciences, and key contributors to the technological capability on which the well-being of the U.S. depends. The Hertz Fellowship is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are graduating seniors or graduate students in their first year of study pursuing a PhD in a field of applied physical sciences. The Foundation does not support other professional degrees, such as the MD, but may support the PhD portion of a joint MD/PhD program.
Current and future potential Hertz applicants are invited to an information session with 2020 Hertz Fellow and 2020 Johns Hopkins graduate Katherine Xiang, who will talk about her experience with the application process and the fellowship so far. Kathleen Barry from Johns Hopkins Scholars & Fellows Programs will be on hand as well to discuss the resources available to Johns Hopkins Hertz applicants.
The application is due to the Hertz Foundation on Oct. 29. If you are applying for the Hertz, a fellowships advisor can read a draft of your application essays. Please send drafts to nfp@jhu.edu by no later than Oct. 15.
