Description

Presented by the School of Medicine's Program in Arts, Humanities & Health, Verdant Medicine is a livestream performance by Alkemie of music by composer, abbess, and apothecary Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) that focuses on her medicinal use of plants.

The music will be followed by a roundtable conversation with the musicians and scholars, Victoria Sweet (UC San Francisco), Alisha Rankin (Tufts), and Minji Lee (Montclair State University), moderated by Johns Hopkins historian of medicine Mary Fissell.

Those who register by April 22 will be mailed hand-made "intersensory program cards" that you can literally smell, taste, and touch as you experience the performance.
