Equal Access in Science and Medicine Trainee Panel: Living with a Disability During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Description
A Graduate Student Association survey suggested 25% of students in the School of Medicine identify as having a disability, mental health disorder, or chronic illness. Therefore, a large proportion of trainees are likely experiencing new challenges due to the pandemic.
With the support of the "JH Needs U" COVID-19 Wellbeing initiative, the Equal Access in Science and Medicine committee aims to increase support for trainees with disabilities by providing them a space to share their unique experiences and perspectives with members of the Johns Hopkins community.
Two discussions on this topic will be moderated by Bonnielin Swenor, director of the Disability Health Research Center. Live captioning (CART) will be provided.
For disability-related accommodations, please contact Erica Avery at eavery3@jhmi.edu.
