Description

Join Hopkins at Home for an exploration of the Carolinas and Georgia, through the lens of voting influence, on the next stop of the On the Road with Johns Hopkins Series. Professor and acclaimed historian Martha S. Jones will share the powerful journey she uncovered in her book, Vanguard: How Black Women Broke Barriers, Won the Vote, and Insisted on Equality for All. We will learn about the courageous African American women who fought for political power, called upon a transformation of America, and how their fight became particularly relevant in the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

Please attend the event by joining the webcast on April 8.
