Please join the Program for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality for a talk by Amarilys Estrella, the ACLS Emerging Voices postdoctoral fellow in Johns Hopkins University's Department of History and the Program for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality. Estrella will present a paper titled "Interrogating Intimacies: Black Feminist Desahogos in Anti-Racist Activism," and a Q&A will follow.
Amarilys Estrella received her Ph.D. in sociocultural anthropology and her master's degree in Latin America and Caribbean studies from New York University. Her research considers the intersections of race, gender, Black Latinx identity, and transnational activist movements, especially human rights and anti-racist activism.
