This interactive and student-driven workshop will address how to communicate effectively with faculty and network with university administrators when exploring graduate programs and preparing for interviews. Participants will work through case studies and establish best practices for professional written communication when engaging with potential graduate programs. Tips and advice for staying connected with your current institution's faculty will also be shared.

We'll address some common questions like:

  • Should I email faculty I'm interested in working with before I apply?
  • Who do I approach with questions about campus resources and community?
  • Is it ever appropriate to cold call a grad program?
  • What does it mean if I don't receive a response?
