CER Faculty Lunch & Learn: Preparing to offer First-year Seminars

Description

The Second Commission on Undergraduate Education report recommends offering a first-year seminar to all incoming students each year. To help departments and faculty prepare to offer these seminars, the next Center for Educational Resources Faculty Lunch & Learn will discuss the goals of the seminars and lessons learned from faculty who piloted the seminars in 2020.

Speakers include:

• Bertrand Garcia-Moreno, interim vice dean for natural sciences, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences
• Aliza Watters, director of First-Year Seminars, Krieger School
• Laura Mason, senior lecturer, Film & Media Studies and History, Krieger School
• Daniel Foster, associate professor and chair, Liberal Arts, Peabody Conservatory
