Description

The Department of Computer Science hosts MIT PhD student Ravi Netravali, who presents a talk titled "Improving Web Applications with Fine-grained Data Flows."

To support rich online services ranging from banking and e-commerce to mapping and social media, web applications have evolved into complex distributed systems, making critical tasks such as performance optimization and debugging difficult, says Netravali. In his talk, Netravali will describe challenges facing the industry and tools developed to support web applications, including a web page load optimizer and a system that accurately measures how quickly web pages become interactive for users.
