Description

World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. The mission of the Wilmer Eye Institute is to contribute to ophthalmic knowledge and to reduce suffering from blindness and vision loss locally and around the world, through leadership and excellence in research, education, and patient care. We are excited to partner with World Sight Day to raise global awareness on preventable blindness and vision impairment. The Wilmer Eye Institute will be raising funds to support resident education, specifically focusing on educating residents about eye diseases throughout the world and treatment options.

Additionally, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on World Sight Day, Wilmer residents will be hosting a virtual Ask Me Anything forum on Reddit.com to answer questions from users across the world regarding any ophthalmic-related topic. Simply log on at 10 a.m. to join the discussion, and ask away.
