Maryland Advanced Research Computing Center, or MARCC, is undergoing mechanical upgrades to add liquid cooling and more power to accommodate new hardware. As a result, there will be an extended downtime from Monday, July 15, at 12:01 a.m. to Friday, July 19, at 5 p.m. These changes are necessary to provide the high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) resources needed for computational research.
During this downtime, MARCC and Rockfish will not be available for use. This includes access to job submission, login nodes, and all file systems: GPFS, home directories, and VAST. Users will not be able to access the cluster or their files in any way for the duration of the outage. If files are needed during that time period, it is recommended that users make offline copies available in the time leading up to the outage.
