Johns Hopkins University has assembled a 15-member committee to help lead a global search for the next president and CEO of Jhpiego, a JHU-affiliated global health nonprofit, university President Ron Daniels announced today.
The committee will be chaired by Executive Vice Provost Stephen Gange and includes representatives from across the university and Jhpiego. Leslie D. Mancuso, an accomplished global health advocate and leader who has spent more than two decades as Jhpiego's president and CEO, announced last month that she plans to retire effective July 1.
"Leslie has guided Jhpiego through a remarkable period of growth and impact, transforming it into one of the world's most respected global health organizations," Daniels wrote in a message to the Hopkins community today. "Jhpiego's new leader will build on this legacy as they further Jhpiego's mission to deliver transformative health care solutions that save lives. Working in partnership with dedicated staff and health care providers in over 50 countries, they will advance Jhpiego's vision to ensure equitable access to dignified, high-quality care that guarantees healthier futures for women and their families."
The process will be aided by the search firm SRI Executive, which will partner with the committee to identify candidates. Input and confidential nominations can be shared with the search firm at Jhpiego-CEO@sri-executive.com.
