Season's first snowfall turns Hopkins campus into a winter wonderland

The season's first snowfall turned Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus into a winter wonderland Saturday as students celebrated the end of the fall semester.

The storm dropped a few inches of fresh powder—the official measure at BWI Airport was 2.6 inches—giving students good reason to pause their final exam preparations to build a snowman or to otherwise frolic and play (the Eskimo way!).

The fall reading period continues through Tuesday, and exams begin Wednesday.
