Description

The Johns Hopkins Student Assistance Program (JHSAP) has helped to organize an American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) "Out of the Darkness" campus walk to raise awareness and money for depression and suicide prevention. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college students, and the third for youth ages 15-24. Adolescent depression—undiagnosed, untreated or both—is the number one cause of suicide.

Faculty, staff, students, families, and friends are invited to participate by walking and/or raising funds. By walking in the Johns Hopkins University Campus Walk, participants will be walking with thousands of students to raise money for AFSP's important research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives.

The 3+ mile walk to Patterson Park and back will start at the School of Nursing. To register or make a donation online, go to http://afsp.donordrive.com/event/JHU/ before April 22. Walkers who registered online before April 22 and those registering the day of the walk, should arrive by 9:30 a.m.
