President's Day of Service

Books and computers give way to paintbrushes, brooms, and shovels when Johns Hopkins faculty, staff, students, and alumni switch gears to join hands with community members in the President's Day of Service. The daylong event, organized by the Johns Hopkins Center for Social Concern, lends hundreds of helping hands to nonprofit organizations and community centers throughout Baltimore and in nearby areas. Since its start five years ago, PDOS has grown from 200 volunteers serving 15 organizations to 1,000 serving 45.
