Join Toastmasters for an open house

This event was originally planned for March 15 and was rescheduled because of the previous day's snow closing. The text has been updated to reflect the new date and location.

If you are like most people, public speaking exists somewhere on your list of fears. Fortunately, the Johns Hopkins at Eastern Toastmasters Club can help, and its members are hosting an open house to show you how.

Join the group to experience a typical Toastmasters meeting, including speeches and a Q&A session. There will also be snacks, beverages, and a raffle prize.

The club is open to all Johns Hopkins faculty and staff interested in strengthening communication, leadership, and public speaking skills in an informal setting. Meetings are held twice monthly, at noon on the first Thursday and at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday, in Room C150 of Johns Hopkins at Eastern, where parking is free.

The open house will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at Johns Hopkins at Eastern, Room C150. RSVP to contact-3688804@toastmastersclubs.org.

Johns Hopkins at Eastern is at 1101 E. 33rd St. Parkers should bring their vehicle tag number to the front desk when they check in.

The campus can also be reached by the Keswick-Homewood-Eastern-JHMI Shuttle.
