School of Education hosts city students for annual Pre-K at Play event

The Johns Hopkins University School of Education hosted 36 4- and 5-year-olds today as part of the Baltimore City Public Schools third annual Pre-K at Play event. The students learned computer basics with representatives from the School of Education, learned about hygiene with students from the School of Nursing, sang and danced with a representative from the Peabody Institute, and made a slime ball with representatives from the School of Engineering. Their day began with some music played by School of Education Dean David Andrews.

Pre-K at Play is part of city schools' ongoing efforts to bolster early learning through exploration and play, give pre-K students experiences that connect school to the world around them, and provide knowledge they need to develop essential skills like reading comprehension and critical thinking. More than 4,000 students participated at more than 30 locations across Baltimore.
